But I thought ALL recreational travel is discouraged, NOT recommended at all per CDC??? ;)

Looks like gorgeous skiing weather! Me? I wanna head to a beach lol!

What a beautiful photo!

Skiing is allowed at Lake Tahoe and has been all this season. If the CDC did not say it was okay, I doubt the the CA ski resorts would be open since CA is so strict.

Here in Idaho, conditions are SPECTACULAR!, but with Covid restrictions, there are darn few lift passes available to all but season pass holders. No walk-up sales. It's all online and when they're gone, they're gone.

I like that thinking. Add hiking and fishing to the list for summer activities.
We did a lot of kayaking last summer---the river in town has a nice flat stretch between two dams that is a good 1.5-2hrs out and back. It was a good excuse to finally get some kayak racks installed on my car. We are looking forward to doing some farther afield this year.

Presidents Day weekend was a lot better the MLK weekend here in Steamboat, primarily because all the lifts were running more consistently. Been snowing pretty regularly as well.

Cheers

Most Colorado resorts are online reservations, too. Winter Park, where I will be skiing tomorrow using a leftover ticket from last year (thank you Winter Park management for extending these tickets) looks wide open for online sales

and the much smaller Wolf Creek ski area in SW Colorado, too, where I will be skiing next week. Wolf Creek has received something like 4 feet of snow in the last week or so, but it looks to be sunny spring skiing for next week.
