Can anyone recommend a reliable shared or private airport transportation service to get us from SJD airport to Cabo Villas in Medano Beach in Cabo San Lucas? We are going end of April. Any thoughts? Thank you.

The Welk Resort uses Transpeninsula. https://www.transpeninsula.com. Our family has successfully used them many times (most recently 3 weeks ago). And their rates seem competitive. (Note: we have always had 4 or more people so the private shuttle made sense for us.) You might also reach out to the concierge at your resort and see whom they recommend.

Cielito Lindo has been around for a long time. We have used their Suburban a couple of trips. Most of our trips include a rental car but occasionally we use a ride. If you pack with only a carry on you could walk to the mini-market a couple of blocks away and catch an Uber. You can google map to see the distance.

We usually rent a car for one day (the cheaper one last time was Avis), after check in went to waltmart, next day to the Marina and leave the car at Avis office at CSL, then go back to the resort by Uber, when go back to the airport also by uber

If you buy the $80 Los Cabos Passport (loscabopassport.com) for restaurants/activities, you can use it to save on your airport transportation. We just arranged a private transfer with Brown’s Private Services (there are others) for our family of five for $140/RT. Normally, a shared shuttle is $42/pp.

For transportation around Los Cabos, Uber has worked great for us.

We’ve used Cabo Travel Solutions. Their cars are clean and usually a sprinter van or Suburban. There are plenty of taxi and car services right outside the airport (after you’ve gotten past the timeshare gauntlet) so no need to really worry about it. I do see also that people LOVE Danny Boy Cabo on a number of Cabo websites Both Danny Boy and Cabo travel solutions have websites to book on.

So you think it doesn't matter if a taxi or private car service takes you into cabo? Are rates from cabo to Los Cabos zones regulated there ?

Getting a taxi at the airport would be my last choice, but it’s easiest. (Shuttles MUST be booked in advance.) It will probably run you close to $80 for a taxi to Cabo Villas. Rates are not regulated.

We went for a wedding in December. There were shuttles that could be booked at arrival and the prices were similar to the prebooked price. Does your resort offer a discounted shuttle service?

The taxis are large vans and are plentiful at the airport, but make a reservation ahead of time if you want a shuttle/private driver. The taxi union is very strong down here and a shuttle driver picking you up without a reservation could catch hell from them.
  • Due to the state of Baja California Sur transportation law, it is mandatory to have a 3-day notice for any transportation service.
