It is not unusual for those in control to change the rules and devalue their product to the detriment of Owners. Actually it is common. Selling is your only recourse...

This is an example of how things change and how systems and resorts that were at one time the basis of pride by owners become problematic.

When I see a Texas license plate where I'm at, I automatically figure it's a Silverleaf owner, going to their HICV resort.

Is HICV reimbursing the HOA's for the expense of owners using the Endless Escapes benefit or is a unfunded expense in the HOA's budget?

I looked buy a legacy Silverleaf interval a few years back after HICV acquired Silverleaf, but I could never get an answer to that question. In the end the lack of clarity on how it was funded caused me to walk away.

Bonus Times is suppose to be offered to owners from a pool of availability units that their owners did not use, did not reserve on time or for whatever reason they did not use. Those weeks had been paid for by the owners with their maintenance fees. Just like all timeshare owners use their owned weeks. Therefore there should not be additional expenses on bonus weeks. Also HICV has stripped us of a lot of our other benefits that came with our contracts.

That is the part that never made sense to me - because no owner was "losing" the right to use their interval with the unused units - aka there was no balancing between the pool you describe and weeks available. Other owners still retained the interval they had paid for.

That is if they are going to use it. You have to give a 30 day notice to reserve it or deposit it, if you don't it goes into the bonus pool. So weeks are paid for if used or not used. And SL offered the non used weeks to other owners instead of leaving them empty. We pay dearly for our maintenance fees.

Thanks for the info.

So Silverleaf is only fixed weeks, and not a mix of fixed and floating? I understand how it might work if it was fixed, but I cannot see how tha would work if it with floating weeks. Also - were HOA inventory/defaulting intervals placed in the BonusTime pool?
