What's the difference between the two resorts (there's two Vistana Resorts in II: VIO and VIT, and one Vistana Villages)? Is one nicer to stay at than the other? Where would you prefer to stay if you were going to enjoy the resort (quality of rooms, pools, view(?), etc). WOuld you request a specific section and/or buiilding?

Resorts Owned
WKORV, WKV, 2-SDO, 4-Kauai Beach Villas, Island Park Village (Yellowstone), Hyatt High Sierra, Dolphin's Cove (Anaheim)
SVV is newer, but SVR has just undergone a complete renovation, so it has been upgraded to a similar high quality. On a II trade, the resort reserves the right to place you in any unit that matches the description on your confirmation. Unfortunately, Starwood will no longer accept requests from II traders, but you can certainly ask at check-in.

If you click on Starwood Owner Resources at the top of the page, you will find maps, pictures of the renovated units, a link to the resorts, etc.

I've stayed in both and was happy with both. Here was what I noticed as different. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Not all the buildings at the Resort have elevators, so you may have to carry baggage and groceries up three floors. My kids (12, 15) thought the activities were better there than at the Villages, although I think some of that depends on the personality of the activity leaders. The resort has a couple of small fast food places. (KFC and Pizza hut maybe) Although those are more expensive than going off site, it was a less expensive alternative than eating at a sit down rest. on site.

The Villages have elevators in all the buildings. I think they might have more pools overall spread out throughout the complex. Both places are very close to each other and very close to stuff on International Dr., outlets, Disney, Seaworld and lots of attractions.

We usually say at check in that we are not interested in doing an owner's updat or a timeshare tour. I find the sales people at the Vistana Village to be way over the top pushy - calling at 8am repeatedly. Orlando is the only Starwood location that did not honor our request not to be contacted. I can't comment on the sales staff of the Vistana Resort. I was smart enough to unplug the phone each night before I fell asleep! :hysterical:

SVV is our home resort, although we have never been there since we bought it.:ignore:
But, we have heard it's very nice and we do plan to go w/in the next few years.

I will definitely keep your idea in mind.:whoopie: Thanks for the info.

We own at Vistana Resort but have never stayed there and have stayed at Villages several times. VV is very nice but when we were there last May, it appeared they their maintenance was lacking. We could virtually not find a barbecue grill that worked, which is a shame for a resort of that caliber. This May we're going to stay at VR on a Getaway week. My guess is that VR is just as nice and hopefully better maintained now that everything has been renovated.
