Sheraton Vistana Villages Parking Fee

FYI: I just called the front desk at the Sheraton Vistana Villages and they told me starting the first of the year they are charging $25 dollars a day for parking. This is for both owners and nonowners.

I would be really surprised if this is actually implemented, since they are essentially taking away a benefit of ownership which was probably conveyed to purchasers. But I don't know what the CC&Rs and purchase documents for that property actually say. It seems like a good way to really alienate owners. If true, owners would have every right to be really angry, that's a huge cost.

I think all the Vistana resorts charge a parking fee for non-ownership reservations, meaning those booked for cash or Bonvoy points through the Marriott system, or Encore Package reservations. But there are no parking fees for ownership reservations, including exchanges via II, VSN or Abound. I will be surprised and dismayed if that is changing.

I suspect this is the case. Other Orlando resorts (Grande Vista being one) is implementing a parking fee for cash based guests. That fee would apply even if you are an owner staying on a cash or Bonvoy based stay. It wouldn't be charged if you are staying on a timeshare stay (ownership or exchange).

I attended the annual meeting for SVV Bella Section in October. The parking fee came up. Management conveyed that Sheraton/Marriott/Westin owners are not charged any parking fee. Exchangers through Interval International do not get charged a parking fee. Only guests who booked through Marriott.com or Air B&B or a third party (like Priceline) will have to pay the new parking fee.

It is possible that the front desk folks don't know all the details of the new program.

That description is in line with what they have been doing at other properties for years. No parking fees on ownership reservations, including exchanges. Glad to have confirmation on that.

Thank you for your replies. I thought it might not apply to owners or their guests but the front desk person I talked to was adamant about it. I wasn’t going to argue, I just thanked her for the information and came here.

Isn’t this going to be a problem since they’re the ones who will be charging you when you check in / out?

Perhaps, but I suspect the system is automated to indicate when a fee is required. Not discretionary on the part of the employee.

I am a MVC owner staying with a friend who booked it through interval. Will I be charged $25 a day to park?

From what we know, you shouldn’t be charged a fee. Let us know if they do charge you or your friend the parking fee.
