Sheraton Vistana Resort - Best section to request(most recently refurbished)

Lakes and Fountains were refurbished in 2020. I believe they completed refurbishment of the Cascades phase recently as well. Falls was also refurbished in the last couple years.

Cascades was the section most recently renovated with full renovations. I believe they were all finished in April/May of this year. They look nice.

I was able to get the Resort (not Villages) with an II Accommodation Certificate for my desired dates in April (last minute trip decision). What can I expect regarding quality? In 20 years we've only had 2 non-Marriott exchanges. How about room location? I know at our home resort of Ocean...

Hello! I've just came back home from there last weekend. They assigned us an unit in the Cascades building first, and as a matter of fact they are refurbished, modern appliances and furniture etc, however unfortunately we had and issue with the AA (not cooling well), so the second morning they moved us to the Springs building/area. The unit was way bigger but everything was old and not refurbished yet. Don't get me wrong, everything functional, very clean, AA worked perfectly, but it felt like going back to 15 years ago (specially the decoration, furniture, appliances etc). I asked and they told me this area will be renovated soon.

I do believe it matters if you booked VIO vs VIT. Your reservation should have a unit code. I would think the codes match to different sections.

I had VIT via a getaway and ended up in Fountains I by the main pool. The unit was in great shape. There are no stairs except some of the later sections which are over 3 stories tall.

I asked questions in the thread below and ended up calling them before checkin. Not sure anybody knows for sure.

Vistana II Unit Codes

That is a standard 2BR and not a 2BR lock off. Does it makes sense then that it would be in Lakes or Cascades? I did see another OP say they preferred Lakes or Cascades and had issues since they reserved under VIO.

When we were there in February, they were working on Spas. Not sure if that’s done yet.

We stayed in Fountains which certainly was more updated than Spas was in Jan 2023.

At SVR now. They put us in Fountains building 35. Nice newer unit. No issues so far
