We’ve just booked 12 nights at Sheraton Steamboat Springs, CO beginning July 19th. Two-Bedroom Villa. :)

My wife, myself, and our going-to-be 12 year old twin daughters.
We’re going to have rental car for freedom to explore as opportunity and distance allows.

We like outdoor activities (Water / biking / hiking, etc.), and also taking time-out to relax at & around the resort.
With 12 nights… it gives us time to settle in and a good amount of days to find things to do without begin rushed.

We’re looking for any recommendations, experiences or comments for summer activities, positive experiences with outfitters, or any other information that could be helpful…. Especially for our daughters.
Thanks in advance!

You can ride the Gondy up and bike down (or further up to the peak). Lots of trails on the ski area and around town.

Tubing on the Yampa is cool. Pun intended.;)

Del's Triangle 3 is my go to location for horseback riding and Saddleback Ranch is also good.

The Health and Rec downtown is a good bet for an easy visit to a hot springs. You can also visit Strawberry Park hot springs for a more rustic experience. (Note it's clothing optional after dark)

Cheers

I like Steamboat

FlyFishing lessons or actual participation is availble

A modest drive away is Dinosaur National Monument is about 130 miles

A long drive leave 6AM and back at evening is to Rocky mountain National Park long because no direct route and in 10 years Rocky Mountain park will have been destroyed by Pine Bore beetles

Just driving through area is fun a day or two relaxing

The town is great to just enjoy and public transportation is so good when I go out to ski I don't get a car. Hop on a bus and hop off where you want
