Those are decent units, the property in Steamboat is a lot nicer as I recall. Those units don’t seem to have been updated, most of the properties have lost the DVD players and Bose radio/amp units as they are kind of obsolete at this point.

i have NEVER figured out what possessed hospitality companies to start putting tubs in the bedrooms, this seemed to be the fad 20+ years ago. Useless, we have never, ever used one of those tubs in the bedroom, I think it’s just weird. The other fad in some hotels (and even some timeshares) is the shower with a glass wall or opening into the bedroom, so that whoever is taking a shower is on display to occupants of the bedroom. That’s even worse than the bedroom tub in my book, it’s downright undesirable. WKORV has that, but at least they put some louvered doors in front of the opening so that you can mostly close off the window into the bathroom from the bedroom, so it’s better than some places I’ve stayed where you are on full display whether you like it or not!

Thanks for the nice video, I haven’t been to that property and can see it’s decent but with just about the smallest version of the “premium 1 BR” in the Vistana network. I guess that’s why they branded it as a Sheraton instead of a Westin. But it looks more than adequate, I hope to stay there one of these days.

I heard Marriott will start to replace the tubs with a larger walk in shower, which they have done at Grande Vista.

I’ve wondered what it would take to get timeshare resorts to get those dated jacuzzi tubs out of the bedrooms. I often wonder how many people use them. Anymore it seems to me most people shower rather than soak in a bathtub. Of course I’ve been wrong before and we could be in the minority who take showers only. Maybe my views are clouded because I’m old and can’t see the tubs as being good for anything other than taking a bath.

From a purely fire hazard standpoint and the stupidity I’ve seen from some people, it still amazes me they put gas grills on a balcony.

Very nicely put. I share your view. And I don't see too many timeshare guests who are in the demographic likely to see the tubs as useful for another purpose.

I really think the "tub in the room" thing was a fad that has passed. Some developer did it, and then others rushed to follow suit, lest their units be seen as passé for not having this modern (?) amenity. I prefer a walk-in shower in the bathroom, but I know there are people out there who like to take baths, but probably most prefer to do so in the bathroom.

Presumably this only works on large balconies where it's possible to put the BBQ sufficiently far from the building that it conforms to fire codes. I think it's a nice amenity but share your concern about the stupidity of some people making it a questionable choice.

It’s definable concrete, but ships are made out of steel and have very strict rules about fire, mostly because they’re out to sea, but they can still catch fire

True, but ships have engines and are carrying large amounts of fuel. I suspect the entire area surrounding the grill is concrete. The grills are also cleaned between each guest. Most serious grill fires are caused by long term buildup of grease. The risk is apparently rather low.

Agree with the comments about the bathtub in the bedroom. We recently stayed at Westgate Smoky Mountains and the setup there was more like a small hot tub in the bedroom. It was a huge 2 seater!

This unit did not have air conditioning, correct? Not an issue most of the year but I've heard there are a few weeks in the summer where that might be less than ideal.

It is definitely a gas grill. You can see the gas line coming in to the back. I know the one I used on the patio at Mission Hills is also gas.

My wife is a big fan of nice tub, but can be just a decent sized soaking tub, no jets.

We are not fans of the glass dividers in bathrooms,..
