Shell Island Beach Resort, Sanibel Florida

We just booked this last week of October. Can anyone tell me about the beach or the resort here. We stayed at Lighthouse Resort and the beach was not so good and we stayed at Sanibel Beach Club II where is this located in relation to those two resorts.

I just looked it up on a map.....couldn't remember (we were on Captiva last December). Looks like all three of these resorts are basically on the same beach (don't you think?). But Sanibel is rated pretty high (as is this resort). I personally liked the beaches at South Seas Captiva but we would come to Sanibel to look for shells and bike ride. We enjoyed riding bikes way down to the end of W. Gulf Drive.....mainly just homes in the area but lots of places to walk through and lock up our bikes. There's only one public beach on Captiva that I can think of....small parking area just past the entrance to South Seas...if you want to check it out. We also took time while in the area to check out Bonita Beach(es), Naples, and took a drive to Marco. So many nice places.......

We live thirty minutes away so know the beaches well. Figured out that the original map showed resort on wrong side of road and this must be right next to sanibel beach club.
my husband enjoyed our stay last year and seemed to remember it so I am hoping for a good trip

I had an exchange at Lighthouse in May. We arrived to find that RCI had not sent the reservation over to the resort. There was a last minute cancellation at SIBC so they sent us there. Well that cost me $7000 because I loved it so much that I just had to own a fixed week.

Beach Club II is the section right next door to SIBC. I wouldn't hesitate.
