Howdy. We have had Shell/Hawaii for many years, generally a positive experience. Have used our points every year, usually for Kauai. Never had to use Interval, and now I’m hearing Interval is out, as of 2019, and RCI is back as partner. Anybody have any input with this? I’m less than pleased with ever increasing yearly maintenance fees, and now $25 transaction fees to do anything with them. Thanks.

I am not happy about the switch to RCI, but it was inevitable. Wyndham and RCI are essentially the same company, and Shell sold out to Wyndham, so we are stuck with whatever they decide. I am not happy with my Shell ownership, and I am looking to get out. I think I am going to list my Shell points with a broker on Kauai. They say they can move these, and so I am going to contact them again about it. I keep putting everything off, when I should be taking care of this.

Oh my, yes! Please do let me know. I am fond of the BeachBoy, but Kapaa is a mess now. Stayed at Lawaii this year, but I can book it myself for same price of the damn maintenance fees. I’d happily dump the whole shebang. Very interested in what you find out. Mahalo!
And thanks!

This company sells Shell points on Kauai because Shell is active in sales on Kauai, so they can sell them, but they can really only sell West Club and Hawaii Club. So if you own in either one of those, they can do it. You won't net any money, the company lists them basically for their broker fees. I don't want to be out money, when we get rid of them, and that is definitely what they can do for me.

Thanks so much.
Yes, I’m a West Club owner, but I’m living on a fixed income now and sort of exhausted with the whole SVC nightmare.
I’ll check it out.
Appreciate the input!

Well, I did have a nice chat today with a sales rep from Timeshare Resale Hawaii. Actually sounds very doable: I will just about break even after commission and all the miscellaneous fees. Anybody have any experience, pro or con, with this outfit? Thanks.

Shell took two of my contracts back by Ovation at no cost to me, and very little hassle, just saying.

I’m signed up with Ovation now. Seems too good: they gave me no fuss, very easy and hopefully this will be the end of my time share experience! Fingers crossed.

Please post updates as you progress with Ovation. DH thinks we should divest ourselves of our SVC membership as well, but we’re going to wait and see what we can do with it this coming year via RCI.

I divested 8500 hawaii points last year through ovation. It was really easy. Just remember to use all your points....they will cancel any reservations and your exchanges and points banked with II. But it just takes a few weeks and you are done. I used all my points for a trip to hawaii and when I got back I submitted the paperwork. That was October and it was out of my name before the next years billing came out.
