Shearwater Garden View

I can book a 2BR "garden view" at Shearwater or 2 BR "Upper" at Bali Hai, both through Wyndham. I have read that all units at Shearwater have an ocean view. If so, why do some units say ocean view and some say garden view? A little concerned about Bali Hai because it has a lot of availability (is there something I am missing?)

I called about the "garden views" at Shearwater and was told they look over the golf course and you can't see the ocean from them. Bali Hai is a bigger newer complex with some unsold inventory---thus more inventory.

Apparently you have never been to Shearwater. :rofl: Shearwater is 100% ocean view units. Some might have a tad of an ocean view, but only maybe one of the units would only have a partial ocean view, and that one would be on the very end.

Really, when Wyndham talks about Garden View, they are saying first floor. I would never take Bali Hai anything over Shearwater--not ever.

We own two Shearwater weeks and are staying in our "garden view" units in April. Looking so forward to those lousy golf course views. :rofl:

Yup, garden just refers to first floor/ground floor units. Doesn't imply that it isn't ocean view, as they are high on the bluff and have a commanding view.

Agree if it's view you want, go with Shearwater. Some of the amenities and interiors are nicer in the remodeled Bali Hai units.

I'm just going by what the resort people told me. I was told what unit it would be (which I forget the number of right now) When I called the resort to inquire about the specific room, he said there were a couple condos that are on the side by the golf course that look out sideways over the golf course. I had my choice of that or for half the amount of points the 3 bedroom penthouse at Bali Hai. I must say, I enjoyed our penthouse.

Shearwater was recently remodeled. They charged owners a big fee for it. We stopped by 14 months ago to check the progress and saw the upgrades. The head of the construction company was happy to show us around. The units are nice. You can always use the pool at Bali Hai, if that appeals to you.

We weren't able to use the Bali Hai pool last winter. We did in previous years.
