Currently have a gold membership with SFX. Was wondering if it was worthwhile to pay for the platinum upgrade or not?
So far, we have had requests in twice for our week, but SFX has not come through. Didn't know if the ability to place a request further out would be helpful or not.
Thanks for advising :)

I went platinum so that I could search further out. It has worked well for me, but I never use gold, so I can't say that it is better than gold.

Another thing to think about: Platinum members get a free unit-size upgrade when available for your deposited week and discounts on the exchange fee.

For our latest exchange, we saved the $199 upgrade fee from a 1BR to a 2BR, and then saved another $30 on the exchange fee. That paid for most of our 3-year membership ($299) in one trade.

I am SFX Plat @ N/C thru a promotion they had for HGVC users last year. I really like the ability to enter requests earlier than 12 months out since we usually have all our travel confirmed prior to 12 months. I've gotten unit upgrades and GREAT exchanges into Beaver Creek, Vail, Breckenridge, Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach and Disney, all in high season!! I've also gotten discounts on the exchange fees and free upgrades (once to a 3bd).

That said, I probably won't pay the fee to upgrade to Platinum. I'll just submit for anything I still need at 12 months out.
