Hi all,

I can call SFX tomorrow, but does anyone know if SFX still has the one in three rule for Grand Mayan, etc properties?

The 1 in 3 rule comes from Vida Vacations ( Sea Garden, Mayan Palace, Grand Mayan, Grand Bliss, Grand Luxxe), and applies to all exchange companies, its not specific to SFX.

As I understand things, it does not apply to Interval. So even though it comes from Vida, the rule is not universally applied. And it seems like it comes & goes, which is why I asked.

Just called and the answer is "yes" on the one in three rule, still in place at SFX.

A few in S and VA, a single resort in NC, MD, PA, and UT, plus Jamaica and the Bahamas
and is it per town or per individual resort?
For example if you stayed in a Grand Mayan unit this year in Riveria Maya could you stay in a Grand Bliss the following year or are you out of the whole area in all Vida properties for 3 years.

This is per resort. I stayed at GL RM last year, so sfx said i cannot get another exchange there for the next 2 years but offered GM instead.

This thread makes me nervous. I have booked a Vida resort week through RCI. I booked an adjoining week at the same resort through Trading Places. Trouble? Who can I call at Vida to assure myself that we won't be put out to sleep on the beach with the crabs and fleas?

First experience actually sleeping under one of their roofs.

As an owner, I've never exchanged in, but here's my question & suggestion:
(A) Is your 'adjoining week' two units the same week (concurrent), or (B) two consecutive weeks?

With RCI, you should be ok with just the one week, consecutive or concurrent, (but looks like you'd need a GC for a 2nd unit, concurrent week). I'm not familiar with how the TP/Vida relationship works. I'd suggest you call TP to get their side.

Here's what RCI says for exchanges: You can only confirm into Mayan Palace once in a 3 year period. Maximum 4 multiple or 2 consecutive units per year total allowed at All Mayan Properties. Multiple units requires mandatory Guest Certificate; for consecutive weeks unless the owner/co-owner is not traveling. Multiple/Consecutive reservations must be confirmed at the same Resort.
Violations to any rule will be cancelled.

As far as calling Vida directly, there's always the customer support email they post here on TUG now & then. Edited to add their email. Of course, always check out the latest on the MX forum.

Thanks for your input. My weeks are consecutive, so no GC required. From what you say, I should be fine, but would like an email with a name to show the desk just in case. Not booked until January, so there is plenty of time to make contact

Anyone with a good contact number would be welcome.
