SFX Delivers Again -- Thanksgiving on Kauai!

I had a week sitting in SFX for a long time. After discussing my original topic (bottom of post), I decided to check availability in Hawaii. My request was for a 2BR on Kauai, Maui, or BI. SFX had several options, including a 2BR at The Point at Poipu for Thanksgiving week which we ended up taking. My deposited week was set to expire in July so we had to pay $99 to extend the deposit. Exchange fee was $149 since we are Diamond-level members. We'll have resort fees as well, but our overall total is still a great price for a week on Kauai.

There were other 2BR weeks on the BI (Kohala Suites and Kona Coast); IIRC they were in December. They had a 1BR on Maui, but I don't remember the month or resort.

I originally called to ask if I could make a late deposit. We're within 45 days of check-in, but SFX will take your deposit if there is a matching request in their system. While it didn't work out this time, we were able to exchange into a great week in Hawaii!

Thanks for the heads up. I am also booking a Nov week through SFX to get the exchange discount (expires today). I wish that they had online search but glad that I was able to use up my expiring deposit.

I gave SFX a call yesterday because they had a exchange fee discount promo ending yesterday. They actually had Hawaii availability on a couple of the islands for next Feb and March. As discussed in previous threads, their follow up for ongoing searches is poor (since I had an ongoing search for what I booked over the phone yesterday). So make sure you call regularly
