I read that article. But, I read with a little more keen interest, the comments from readers at the end. And, true to form, every time there's an article about some problem with timeshares, critics come out of the woodwork totally lambasting timeshares and insulting the intelligence of people who own TSs.
It would sure be nice if people would communicate with happy TS owners before spouting off such thoughtless comments. But then hey, maybe I should post this comment on that article's Comments section rather than here?
Even though I bought resale (2 Points Memberships and a floating week, sold in 2011). Based on the image of the product I rarely admit I am a timeshare owner . . .
In theory special assessments shouldn't always be bad. One reason listed, to accelerate installation of wifi, sounds like a good reason. But if it comes from a mgmt company who's been increasing annual fees the last few years, and/or springs the SA all of a sudden, with not the most friendly payment terms, then yeah, it's not going to go over well.
