I sent in the rescission letter within the cancellation window just as instructed did certified mail with return receipt.... Tracking shows at my certified mail was delivered to a person however I have not received any update on the return receipt so it seems like USPS messed up and did not do that part for whatever reason. Now I'm stressed because I don't know if they're processing my paperwork. This is just so irritating. I don't know if I should call WorldMark at this point. I have been looking on the forum and saw a lot of comments that say Don't call them. On the contract it says they have 20 days to refund I think I have till December 12th. My letter was delivered on November 22nd. I didn't see them take out the first maintenance fee from my credit card so I am thinking that I'm on the clear since it's due December 1st. However I got an email to go ahead and register my account so it is kind of making me doubt a little bit. Does anyone have any insight on this or do you recommend me calling at this point? Thank you much!

Assuming that you have the Post Office receipt showing the date it was postmarked, you're all set. When it gets delivered is pretty much immaterial. Don't pay anything towards the loan or MF. It'll all be ironed out.

There is a good chance that your credit card is on a different schedule than WM or the office that handles these things. Just watch your cc account. There has been a holiday and they may be short staffed. Obviously, they might value setting up accounts for folks who bought their stuff than appeasing someone who just wants their money back.

It will happen, but this time of year the USPS is also busy doing what they do. Last time I looked, Dec 12 is still over a week away. So, for now, be patient. Go celebrate. Shop TS resales. Make travel plans. If the time gets into the back half of December, you might want to call for a progress report.

They will follow the law to rescind your purchase. There is no requirement for them to notify you. Most of the time, there is no notification.

Thank you so much for your message that makes me feel better! I've been looking on eBay but was waiting around until this cancellation is final. I felt like it's still a great idea to join one (at a bargain) my friends are making me doubt a little bit because they kept saying you can't even get the dates you want to take vacation, etc. And the maintenance fee that can increase at any time is making me a little worried.

Thank you I'm just hoping they will follow through even though they did not do the return receipt part.

The cancellation was final the minute you received the Postmark within "X" amount of days of purchase as long as it pertains to State Law (I've never heard of a twenty day window to cancel). What state are you in?

Assuming you had it Postmarked within the legal timeframe then you are all set. You do not need to call them at all. It's the actual Postmark which rules the roost.

Sit back, relax, and go celebrate. Allow up to 45 days for a refund. They do not have to acknowledge your receipt but they do have to act on it.

Welcome to TUG!

Sorry I may have worded it in a confusing way. The rescission is 5 calendar days. They said they have 20 days to send all the refunds per the contract.

That wasn't WM, it was USPS. WM is obligated to process the rescission. It's the law.
My main concern/stress was that since they did not sign the return receipt they could act like they did not receive it. Only the certified mail tracking confirmed that it was delivered. The contract specified to do certified mail and a return receipt. I did both as instructed but USPS did not obtain the return receipt. I am going to stay optimistic though. It's nice to hear from all of you I appreciate it.

Deep breath and relax. WM will honor the rescission. The law requires it. WM will honor that. Their Wyndham sales folks lie like a rug, but the company will follow the law and honor this rescission. The return receipt signature is just a distraction. You probably won't hear from them at all,, but be patient and you will get a refund of anything you paid.

If USPS says it was delivered, it was. WM isn't going to get into a fight with USPS. Tell your CC company you lost the card, and get a new # just for peace of mind.
