Selling Vidanta weeks to "illinois consulting group"?

I was approached by an Illinois Consulting Group to buy some weeks of my Vidanta contract.
They resell these to "investors" who supposedly want to entertain clients at Vidanta resorts, and needs weeks in order to do so.

They need me to pre-pay x weeks with Vidanta, then transfer the weeks to them with some power-of-attorney docs. Say they use an escrow company, then will pay me out for the weeks after the transaction (through escrow company). They say I'd get time to review the contracts before executing anything.

Does anyone have experience with this? it may be a useful way for me to offload a few weeks that I won't get around to using...

Please re-read your post carefully and tell me if you really think this is legitimate.

Definitely a scam - you do not need a power of attorney to make a Vidanta reservation for someone else; the reservation line people will put the reservation in whoever's name you want then you sign a letter authorizing check in. Not really obvious what the angle they're pursuing here is in this scam, but any time someone calls you with an offer out of the blue you can be sure it is one.

Ask yourself this question: If you were selling a house, would you pay a real estate agent to list it? No, you would pay a real estate agent a commission after the sale. You have nothing to gain with this offer.

Why would you pay anyone anything in advance to sell your assets and create a phony escrow account? In the scenario they presented to you, not only do you prepay for them to sell your timeshares, but you actually transfer ownership of your timeshare to someone else. Basically, you are paying them to screw you twice!

The only thing you pay for in advance is take out food. Other than that, keep your hands in your pocket and protect yourself.

They probably want the advanced maintenance fee paid to them, not to Vidanta?

First red flag: NO ONE will EVER cold call you to give you money.
Second: They want YOU to pay money upfront.
Third: Why would a legitimate 'Consulting Group' be arranging timeshare resort stays when there are literally HUNDREDS of them on offer on eBay for FREE!

Next time they call, HANG UP!
