Looking for advice on selling this contract that is only 2.5 years old. There is still 2.5 years left on the contract, but I am not going to use this sort of club that gives you so many points per year after paying an annual fee. The contract is almost half paid off. I would sell it for a $1000 if someone would just take it over.
It has a dozen of so resorts around Cuba to pick from.
I looked at Craigslist, but it did not appear to be a good marketplace for such real estate ads.

I'm sorry, but travel clubs have no resale value - especially outside the US, where they have a bad reputation.

To be quite honest, it will probably be difficult to even give it away.

I would explore options to give away to someone in Cuba, since US travel to Cuba is quite restricted.

Have you checked the contract to see what would be the result(s) if you just stopped paying your annual dues and/or original financing? Have you contacted the club's member services to see if they will simply let you out of the contract now without you paying another penny?

Just out of curiosity, what about this contract would make you think that someone would want to pay you $1000 for it? You admitted that "There is still [only] 2.5 years left on the contract". One thousand dollars for what is essentially questionable discounts for 2.5 years of travel?!

Your best bet would to either use it until your contract runs out (assuming that whatever "discounts" you get are worth the annual dues) or negotiate with the lender and club an exit from your contract. But do not pay any third party (law firm, relief company, viking ship company, etc.) any money to do this on your behalf. Most, if not all, of these are scams.

I'm wondering how (where?) someone acquired a Cuba based travel club? I suppose it might have some barely limited value to Canadians or Europeans who can go there, but as US citizens are still forbidden from independent travel there, it has none.

I acquired the membership while on vacation in Bahamas. The club has many resorts, but most are in Cuba. hadn't planned on going to Cuba, but now I see I couldn't go there anyways.
