As "a member for many more years than the system indicates", you probably know most of the following, but since you asked the question....
Posting an interest in selling or renting a timeshare is treated as advertising if the poster identifies the resort and/or other details that might induce others who read the post to contact the poster and make an offer.
The same applies to any
commercial links or comments where the poster has something to gain. Thus, if I owned the XYZ Travel Agency, I would not be permitted to include a link that refers to the site in my posts, nor could I mention that I run that business. Doing so would be treated as advertising, because, as specified in the Posting Rules, I'm not permitted to include anything in my post that would be considered a "promotion for [my] business".
That's much different than Denise's link, which is to her personal web site and which, in the link, there is no reference to any commercial activity. Many, many TUGgers include such a link to their personal sites in posts. See the Posting Rules for methodology permitted for linking to commercial sites!
The details are outlined in the "Advertising" section of the Posting Rules, which you can access from the blue bar near the top of this page.
Also, if you have further comments about moderating, please follow this part of the Posting Rules:
In addition, do not enter complaints about moderation into BBS messages. .... Any such complaints or discussion should be communicated to the BBS staff directly via email or personal message.
