Hello all,

I was mislead as a 21 year old when buying my property about a year ago on my 21st birthday with purchasing 6,000 points from bluegreen. I have not used 1 vacation because being a college student and working full time I do not ever get the chance for a vacation.

The timeshare is with Bluegreen with the property owned being in Florida at the fountains. I am looking to sell as soon as possible because i cannot let another month go by with it being unused. All fees are paid and up to date. I just want to get rid of this and have the correct financial freedom I deserve at this growing age.

Problem is it is worth less than $500 and really you may have to pay the transfer fee just to give it away and that is only if the loan is completely paid off not just up to date. Your choices are to pay off the loan completely and then try to sell/give it away. Your other option is to contact the resort and explain your situation and tell them you can't/won't pay anymore. Eventually the property will go into foreclosure and they will take it back but it will affect your credit in a negative way, perhaps quite severely.

As stated above you can not transfer it to anyone without it being in your name free and clear.

You could rent out your points to others, this means making a ressie for them and getting a guest cert for them. This will ease the maintenance fee issue until you are ready to vacation.

The sad reality is that you most likely will not get anything for it.

You could try calling Pinnacle, BG's reasale arm to see what they can do for you. Some people look for small points packages so they can get charter benefits. You will pay them a hefty commission if they sell it.

If you do list with Pinnacle and find a taker on your own remember to cancel your listing agreement before you sell or you will be on the hook for their commission.

Another thing you might want to do is join a couple facebook groups that are strictly BG. Bluegreen Timeshare Secrets is one that can give you some advice.

This is not legal advice, just some suggestions I've read from others.
