Hello, I'm a 8000 eoy owner. I do have a mortgage on our deeded ownership, it's with Big Cedar. I can have it paid off if i need to, if thats required to complete my plan. Which is, If I sell/give my points away. Do I keep my "Charter" benefits, such as Bonus time. Or do you have to actually have points in your account to use Bonus time. Our thoughts are, we give points away, save on fees for a few years. Use Bonus time, then when things get back to usual, we get points again through resell. Thoughts?

Bonus time is tied to you owning points.
If you owned 20,000 and sold 16,000 your remaining 4,000 points would make you eligible for bonus time.

When you sell your 8K EOY contract, you will no longer be an owner so will not have access to your ”former” account.

If you buy resale, you only get bonus time at the resort where your points have their priority use period PUP, not at all the resorts that you get thru Charter benefit.

I assume your not able to sell half your contract either? Is there a minimal points allowed? Maybe buy 4k points, and then sell 8k. Just trying to think of a way to still use Bonus time, but not have the high fees. But I'm sure I'm not the only that feels this way. Thank you for your reply

No, you cannot sell a portion of your contract. Tts all or nothing. You have close to the smallest contract they sell, 6000 EOY is the smallest one I've seen. Your fees are a total of your Club Dues, Base Fees, then your total points times the current year maintenance fee per point. So at the smaller level, your cost per point is at the highest (due to the fixed cost of Club dues and Base Fee.) Selling your points, then buying a 6000 EOY contract would be terrible expensive, as you would make virtually nothing, then pay for a new 6000 point EOY contract, and the trivial difference in maintenance fees (about 100 per year now) would take multiple decades to make up.-between 60 to 80 years--and that's not counting the loss in value from selling your original 8000 EOY contract.

Thank you, I kinda assumed these facts. Was just hoping. But it's all good. Enjoy
