I posted on the Europe Forum, but received no replies so am hoping that by asking for help of all Tuggers, some answers might be found!

I saw this resort in France via the RCI directory- D807 LVD Resort La Rochelle in Courcon d'aunis.

RCI has virtually no information about this t/s, there are no reviews on TUG and I've not found anything about it via Google or Duck Duck Go. We followed the map link provided by RCI and looked at Google Earth as well. The pinpoint of this supposed resort shows an empty field! The email address provided by RCI has been bounced back by Mailer-Daemon. I've emailed the tourist board in the closest village to Courcon asking if they know about this mysterious resort and not received a response as yet.

My DH suggested calling RCI, but I suspect the guide would only repeat what is on their website.

Finding more about D807 is as frustrating a quest as trying to snag a vaccine appointment, although the consequences of being unsuccessful are not comparable!

Anyone? Thanks!

I think part of the problem is that what's in RCI isn't a address it's a zip code for a region in France. Maybe try calling RCI to see if you can get more information.

Definitely give RCI a call and see what they have for additional information. That can be very frustrating . I wonder if the address is different for whoever owns it ? RCI should be made aware of a wrong email address since it is an active exchange! Good luck. Please let us know how you make out.

RCI guide had no more info than what is on the website. Next step is to contact RCI via "feedback".
What about speaking to a guide ? They may be able to dig deeper and get back to you about the resort. I've had luck when I get a helpful person who will investigate and relay information.

Lorenzo, the RCI guide, I spoke with on Saturday was as stymied as me. He suggested I contact feedback at RCI, which I did, and hopefully they will respond!

I also emailed the tourist board of Marans FR, which is the closest village with such an office to Courcon, to see if they might know anything about LVD Resort La Rochelle.

Maybe I should add it to my OGS and, if a match can be made, more details would follow!!

I discourage you from booking there. You will check in and never be heard from again. They will make an unsolved mystery about you.

Well, I was able to follow the driving directions on how to get to the resort using Google Maps; there's a potential match just North of the Gendarmerie National at 1 Chemin des Tumulus, 17170 Courçon, France, but there doesn't seem to be anything that would indicate what it is. There does look like there is a check in building there. I believe the address of the place is 5001F Fief Breuillet, 17170 Courçon, France, but could be mistaken. You might go to Google Maps and search for that address and see what you can find; the best I could see using the street view function was the back of some signs along the road. Looking at the satellite photo version of the maps, it appears to be the right place because it's at the roundabout right after leaving the forest as described in RCI under the Area Info tab (see below).

Directions from Major Airport to Resort
From La Rochelle airport, follow "Toutes directions"; take the exit Niort/Nantes/Poitiers drive about 30kms (20 min) and take exit Courçon/Benon. Follow Courçon sign on left, pass the forest you arrive at a roundabout, the resort is front of you.

I attached a picture of where I believe the resort is. I tried using a pdf of the screen capture, but the file was too large; sorry about the low resolution. I also included the street view of the entrance as a pdf.

Merci, Eric B!
The first foto is what DH and I saw but we focused on the empty field to the left. The 2nd just may be LVD Resort La Rochelle, although I must say it seems sparse and drab, perhaps the grey sky sets the mood....
My email to the mayor of Courcon was bounced back by Mailer-Daemon!
Still no feedback from RCI.

De rien! It doesn't really look like a place I'd want to stay, either. I guess it depends on if you have a reason to be in the region and won't be spending much time at the resort or using it for anything other than a place to stay and make some meals.

Feedback from Mary W at RCI:
"I have received a response from staff in our European offices. The Specialist advised that this resort is not currently in a valid affiliation status with RCI. She also added it appears this resort may not have actually been built. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any other information regarding the status of this property."

Not even like the Hotel California where we could have checked in but never left!

Fingers X'd that one of the 3 French t/s gets matched for us. We had gotten Royal Regency for last September so maybe it will hit for 2022!

If the mayor of Courcon replies I will share her response here; otherwise, merci beaucoup et au revoir to all who have been supportive of this Mission Impossible!

FWIW, we stayed at the Marriott near Disney Paris in December 2019 and really loved it. It was through II so may not be part of the RCI system.

:) Yep, built and a really lovely one. It is close to Disney but just far away to be out in the countryside and we loved being there. Winter was a nice time (caveats for light, weather etc.). We heard it is quite a zoo in the summer, not surprisingly.
