I've been on that corner in Winslow, AZ, and it's......not all that and a bag of chips. ;)

I heard that there is a girl in a flatbed ford that's a fine sight to see but that was in the 70's. She's probably a grandma now, lol.

How did you like the Wyndham in Sedona? We are thinking about doing a similar trip to yours next year. We’ve been to Sedona before, but didn’t stay at the Wyndham.
Love your photos of Flagstaff in the snow…so pretty! That’s one of our favorite resorts, but we’ve only been there in warm weather….

We stayed at Hilton Sedona Summit -- very nice but for a couple of things (shaky WiFi, no telephone, bedrooms are very dark).
@chapjim, those Flagstaff photos look familiar! We did a big Sedona, Flagstaff, Page, and St George loop in Dec-Jan, and snow kept things interesting! Oak Creek Canyon on 89A is beautiful, but a bit harrowing to drive when it’s snowing and the road is covered in ice. I bet it was a long 3 hours!

At the Flagstaff Wyndham, I highly recommend the dinner special at the golf club restaurant. It was surprisingly very good! If you don’t make it to Grand Canyon, downtown Flagstaff along Route 66 was fun to wander around for photos. I love the old Route 66 motels and signs (and brew pubs and second hand stores). Walnut Canyon National Monument is definitely worth a visit, if it isn’t too icy (lots of stairs). DH laughed at my desire to go to Bearizona (we’ve driven past it countless times), but it was wonderfully kitschy and interesting. Whatever you do, I hope you have a great time!

Funny thing. My first drive down through Oak Creek Canyon was in January 1968 but I don't recall snow or ice being a thing. Neither do I recall seeing anything about Sedona. I'll do some research on the town but I suspect that it was mostly ranches back then. Artists/hippies in the '70s probably had a lot to do with making Sedona a destination and with some of its purported mystical features. I can't say for sure the vortexes aren't a thing but chemistry/pharmaceuticals probably have more to do with them than anything real.
