@chapjim, those Flagstaff photos look familiar! We did a big Sedona, Flagstaff, Page, and St George loop in Dec-Jan, and snow kept things interesting! Oak Creek Canyon on 89A is beautiful, but a bit harrowing to drive when it’s snowing and the road is covered in ice. I bet it was a long 3 hours!
At the Flagstaff Wyndham, I highly recommend the dinner special at the golf club restaurant. It was surprisingly very good! If you don’t make it to Grand Canyon, downtown Flagstaff along Route 66 was fun to wander around for photos. I love the old Route 66 motels and signs (and brew pubs and second hand stores). Walnut Canyon National Monument is definitely worth a visit, if it isn’t too icy (lots of stairs). DH laughed at my desire to go to Bearizona (we’ve driven past it countless times), but it was wonderfully kitschy and interesting. Whatever you do, I hope you have a great time!
