Hello all :hi:

I'm new to timesharing, and looking to buy into a property that would be a good trader. I read on TUG that location is a very important factor when trading timeshares. Hawaii and the CA coast have both been rated as excellent locations. I have also noticed some very nice properties in Sedona. I expect
Sedona to be popular with families given the proximity to the Grand Canyon and Indian lands. I've also looked at Phoenix but expect this to have less trade value.

What do you experienced timeshare owners say? Especially those with properties on the CA coast or AZ. Thanks for your opinion.

Definitely more demand for CA coast - especially beach locations. MF in Hawaii are usually too high to make it the best trader.

Personally, I think it's just the opposite - a nice property in Scottsdale will outtrade Sedona, especially a March or April week.

Regardless, the others are right - coastal CA will be better.

Sedona is very easy to exchange for, so I doubt it would be a good trader. The location is great, but there are several timeshares in the area, so I imagine that the supply equals or exceeds the demand. Regardless, I agree with all others that CA coast is the best, especially summer.

So are you thinking of buying out West AND in Hilton Head or Myrtle Beach AND Florida outside of Orlando, since you've asked about all of those areas in different threads? If you're just looking for one trader you might be better off doing a search here as there have been lots of postings about what's the best trader overall.

To which I would say-a California Coast is going to cost SIGNIFICANTLY more. You could buy a nice Sedona unit for next to nothing. :) The problem is, in order to get a California coast trade, you will probably need RCI points (although we are going to Newport in a couple of weeks-but that was through DRI and II).:wall:
