Hi. We are getting ready to purchase a resale ocean view week at the Ko Olina from someone on Redweek. Before we move forward I wanted to see if any had experience in the following purchasing by way of the following questions...

- What a resonable price should be given the ROFR for Marriott
- Any problems with using the week at our home resort under the marriott rules
- Any problem with depositing in II

Any other thoughts, suggestions, and points of reference related to this resort or buying on the seconday market is appreciated.

Thanks!

I don't believe Marriott will exercise its ROFR for the unit. I've had no problem getting a reservation. II will gladly take your deposit but they may not give an accommodation certificate for the deposit. Check in advance before making the deposit.

Check ebay

Before you close, check ebay. As we get closer to the end of the year, you should see more listings as people cant or dont want to pay the maint fees. You can get some real deals.

Still prob cheaper than redweek. Good luck.

Check completed Ebay listings to get an idea of a bottom price for the resort, or if you post the view here others might chime in to what a realistic but low end figure might be. Don't worry about ROFR and don't let that influence your purchase price. In the unlikely event that Marriott does exercise (and since they have plenty of Ko'Olina inventory it is very unlikely) there are always other deals out there. So don't be talked into overpaying just to avoid ROFR.

Welcome to Tug, btw:hi: . It's always better to discover this forum before a purchase than after.
