Are we the last people to know this?

We're at Shadow Ridge this week and called to make reservations at the JW Sea Grille and were told that it was closed last summer.

We're so disappointed. Sea Grille and Tuscany are our favorites for using our dining for two certificates.

We did eat at the Tuscany and were pleased to know that our favorite Sea Grille server, Guillermo, is now at the Tuscany. He and one other server were picked up at the Tuscany.

He told us the Sea Grill chef married the hostess and moved on, Florida maybe? The large fish tank is still there but otherwise the Sea Grille is empty. He said they are using it for banquets, but other plans are uncertain.

The Tuscany was fabulous, as usual, and it was more crowded than we've ever seen it on a Tuesday night.

Bummer. Do you know if the Japanese restaurant honors the 2 for 1 dinner certificate?

Jolene,

I had to smile when I read your post! We are at DSV II this week and back in October when we were at Shadow Ridge we sadly learned of the closing of Sea Grille. It has been a favorite of ours for years and Guillermo was also our FAVORIT server! Couldn't believe you wrote that. How funny. Guillermo was our first server we ever had there and we always requested him when we came here to visit.

We are not going to dinner at the JW this week, but next time we will seek out Guillermo at Tuscany's. This will also make us venture out a bit and try Mikado again. They are not as expensive as I thought. Around $35 Teppan and only $15 for kids. Fun.

I hope you have a good week at Shadow Ridge. We are looking forward to the warm temperatures tomorrow...suppose to be 80 degrees!

Cheers,
Janna

Tuscany really is excellent. It's been 8 years since our visit to DSII and I can still vividly recall the two meals we ate there that week. Awesome.

Janna: Is there some way you can find out if the Japanese restaurant is honoring the 2 for 1 certificate? I bought one specifically for the Seafood restaurant and now its closed. I am not fond of Italian food :(

I'm not sure if the Mikado is a good value for the dining certificates because it is not as pricey as the Tuscany.

Tuscany is more northern Italian, not traditional spaghetti and meatballs Italian. We had lobster tails, our companion had lamb chops. There is veal on the menu and steak.
We had lobster raviolli in a light sauce as an appetizer. The menu is on their website.
Jolene (wishing I had some of that molten chocolate cake right now)

Cathy,

I will try to call Mikado today, or the concierge who should know!
