SDO Purchase Question

Im currently going through the process of purchasing this SDO plat unit.

Currently the seller has reserved a spring break week for 09. My goal is to deposit my 09 week into II once the deed is transferred.

What's the best move here? My concern is that by the time the title is transferred, and I am able to put the week into II, it will be too late to maximize the trading potential of the unit.

Should I have the seller release the week and try and get an Xmas week, which I can then deposit w ample time?

If I have him deposit his week into II, will II allow me to take over the banked week once the unit is in my name?

Advice please.

Thanks

You cannot deposit the week until it is in your name. You cannot take over his deposited week. I think a Spring Training week exchanges the best, but you are right, it may mean a later than desirable deposit.

I think that it might make sense to have him book a Dec week for me, especially considering Im looking to trade into WKORV for early Dec 09

I would ask them to reserve either Xmas or New Years week for you. According to the II travel demand index, they are pretty good weeks for trading. Not quite as high as Spring Break, but the timing will be much better for you.

Absolutely have the seller free up the weeks. Depending on where you are at in the sales process, I am going to guess you are probably looking at the end of January or mid-February.

Remember, closing date does not mean anything for a buyer. Starwood has to have you put into their database before you can transact....which can take 3-4 weeks.
