went to the owners meeting this weekend, The meeting constists mostly of the management blowing smoke up all the old farts hind ends there. I usually go to the resort 2-3 times a month when the whether is good, the kids love to swim in the pool. I hadnt been there for a few weeks before the meeting, suprise the management decided that they are going to implement the rule that there shall be no outside food or drink brought into the pool area because it is next to the restuartant. simultaneaously they have decided that the food prices need to be raised to the level that is very insulting to anyone that pays attention to what they spend on things. They have doubled the happy hour drink prices. the 50cents worth of draft beer they used to sell me for 1.50 during happy hour is now 3.25. a dozen wings for 8.5 ? what the F#@* They were crying that the resturatant was losing money, but how is it smart to sell half the amount of stuff to the half the people who will grudgingly pay it? and piss of the other people who will just not buy anything. the old farts on the board just do what the management tells them, and they will have all the votes to keep themselves on the board because most of the votes they control via proxies.

dont get me wrong, I love the resort, and plan to keep it . My week is last week of feb? and I had no problem finding someone else to pay my maintence fee to use it 2009. but I doubt people with weeks in jun-august are as fortunate, as the maintence fees have risen to nearly even with the rack rate in the summer.
