Wife, grandson, his friend & I are at the Schooner Landing for five days. The units are in very good repair. The weather is cool for July. Highs in the low 60s and lows around 50 degrees. Foggy in the morning and evening. Let me know if you want any info on the Newport area. Oh, the Rogue Brewing Co. has great beer. :)

Hi Phil,

How is the erosion situation at the resort? Are the stairs to the beach open? Is the resort done with special assessments for a while? I know they have a very serious erosion problem and have spent tens of thousands of dollars to try and fix it. Otherwise, it's a great place.

Enjoy your stay. I really like the Oregon coast.

Steve,
I overheard an employee saying that the heavy rains did NOT cause too much damage because of the money they spent in advance to correct the problem. They're hoping there won't be another SA. Are you an owner? Yes, the stairway to the beach is open. Boy is it steep! :)

We went fishing & crabbing yesterday with Tradewinds and everyone limited out on bottom fish & our share of the crabs were eleven[/]. I also got a 24" Ling Cod. The last two nights we stuffed ourselves with fresh Dungeness. Oh, my belly. And we still have three in the freezer to take home. :)

Phil,

I'm glad you're having a great time. I'm not an owner at Schooner Landing. I've thought about purchasing a week there several times, but I've held back because of the erosion. If that weren't an issue, I would have bought a week several years ago. It's nice resort and a great location. I wish there were more nice timeshares on the Oregon coast.
