grade 8 that was it?

I hated school, I remember The end of 6th grade saying
Thank God only 6 more years!
Like it was yesterday :)

Dave

I wish - did plenty more school after grade 8 .
Of course when I was in university- it was the price of a draft beer that mattered , not school lunch .

***********
I grew up on Long Island - commuted to all boy HS in the Bronx - then went to
The University of Toronto ( as did my parents - who had met there )

The Chez Moi was 35 cents for an 8 ounce draft and had some atmosphere . The Brunswick House and The War. Amps of Canada were 25 cents .The War Amps was a much closer walk and had table shuffleboard.

The only thing I remember of my school cafeterias is the little round carton of vanilla ice cream that had a tab lid and a short wooden paddle-like spoon. We would stick the spoon in the middle of the ice cream, twist and pull the ice cream out of the carton to be eaten like a popsicle.

I graduated HS in 1982 for perspective in a small town on the east end of Long Island NY. I remember a few decent meals but nothing to rave over like some experienced. I recall the pizza served on Fridays was pretty good squared style but nothing like the great NY pizza we could get around town. Also had a a chicken ala king that was fairly good. I also remember a hero like sandwich with a russian dressing that we liked. Burgers were no good I do recall. We were lucky though that we could leave the campus and often did for Baby Moon pizza and German deli sandwiches.
