Sounds like a scam to me. They probably want you to send them an upfront fee to have them start the process.

List your timeshare on Ebay or here on Tug Classified.

Never pay an unfront fee you will get nothing for your money and still own the timeshare

The address found for this "charity" shows a personal home for a Jesus Velez Lugo, purchased in July 2008. (Hillsborough Cty, FL instrument # 2008307031). I was unable to find any info showing this individual registered as an agent for a non-profit or any info showing this as a registered business with the state of Florida..

Caution is strongly recommended.

End Vacation - Can anyone help ASAP please?

We have been appraoched by End Vacation this evening saying they have a buyer in the next room for our Timeshare!! They have only given us 24 hours to make a decision.

End Vacation are based at:

Apartado de Correos 75
29630 Benalmadena
Malaga, Spain

and have a website: www.endvacation.com

Normally we wouldn't entertain cold callers but we have had a letter from them at the end of last year and they have said they dont require any details from us. The payment would be via cheque and we would wait for it to clear before sending them the ownership certificates via reputable courrier.

COULD THIS BE THE BREAK WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR OR SHOULD WE NOT LET OUR GUARD DOWN???????????

ANY HELP PLEASE GUYS?

Has anyone heard of or had dealings with END VACATION??

Thank you!!

Almost always this is a ploy to get you to list your TS with them. Many companies will tell TS owners that they have a buyer who is willing to pay 2-5 times more than you know your TS is worth if you list your TS with them. Almost never this there a buyer, and almost always you still have your TS and are out the fee the companies charges to list your TS.

I've never heard of End Vacations but I wouldn't let my guard down.

Good Luck

Don't do it. The first hint is the push with a 24 hour timeline

It's always the same. This is only good for 24-hours, so that you don't have the time to really think about what you're doing. Fortunately for you, you didn't jump on this offer of theirs immediately and realize that it might not be legitimate. Good for you!! I assure you that this is a cold call and that there is no buyer. They just want to separate you from your cash. This is a typical sales ploy (only these people aren't offering anything in return). This offer is only good today. If you're willing to give them you're money, I'm sure they will be happy to take it next week also. You'll get the same thing in return next week that you would have gotten today. Nothing! Good luck!

The clues that it's a scam:
1. They are using the "24 hours" push.
2. They don't require any details from you, yet they are ready to buy and give you a cheque.
3. Before they can give you the cheque, they would need an upfront fee from you, called listing/administrative/recruitment/...... fee. Or: they would give you a large personal or cashier's check (that will turn out to be bogus) and you only need to send somebody a "small" cheque to reimburse that somebody.

When it's too good to be true, it usually is.

Jerryx:shrug:

The people who frequent here would not have a "Complaint" since they would not fall for this reptitive scam.

The people who fall for this are already discouraged with a purchase they should not have made, and not likely to stay around a site that encourages the maximization of usage and adding to the portfolio by purchasing in the secondary market

There are hundreds of posts about similar offers from people who have been scammed, that end up in the owner being seperated from their money and still holding their timeshare.

1. The buyer is always willing to pay more than it's worth
2. Immediate payment for some type of service is required
3. The buyer disapears, and the money put up front is applied to some type of advertising or other worthless service.

If you got a poorly worded email saying I will send you a cashiers check for more than the amount please send me the excess via western union you would mark it spam and block that email address.

These type of scammers are asking for their fee up front, offer them two times what they are asking for from the back end and they will hang up - Why because they are not in the business of selling timeshares, they are in the business of scamming owners for inflated listing fees., If they still give you BS reasons why they can't take the money out of the back end keep raising the offer, at no point will they do the transaction being paid from the proceeds, why becuase there is no sale actually pending.

Look at it this way... if timeshares are being given away for free or for very little (including some very good quality / good reputation ones) on E-Bay or other reputable sites then why would anyone offer you basically a blank cheque for one? IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE THEN ITS NOT TRUE... but if you dont want to believe us then do whatever.

You must have been reading my mind - I deleted both of those statements from my original post before submitting

I would 100% agree with LLW and Bill, No one is ready to buy your Timeshare....But once they have all your details you will be subjected to many calls and promises untill they wear you down and get you to pay a fee of between 100 to 500 pound. Even once they have a fee off you, your details are then passed to others so they can have a pop at you.

Timeshare Donation

Yes I used www.hmssite.com to donate my Diamond Resorts timeshare. It took about 3 weeks and it went through pretty good. They had references of past donors so I trusted them. Easy to work with company. Recommended.

First Post "endorsements" are to be taken with a grain of salt...

Call me a cynic, but I am always more than a little suspicious of a "guest" placing his / her very first TUG post endorsing something which hundreds and hundreds of other experienced timeshare owners and users here have never even heard of....

Not to mention that even the smoothest timeshare transactions on the planet generally take considerably longer than just 3 weeks. I for one am not buying this "endorsement" for one second...

By contrast, when a TUG-BBS newbie starts off with a complaint about getting scammed, ripped off, hornswoggled, & bamboozled, that I can believe.

Just saying.

It is amazing the number of times first time posters come here to promote a business. How/why did jbailey1984 come to tug (if they have sold their timeshare) and come across this thread? Usually when this happens, a crackerjack moderator will post that the ip address of the shill is in the same community, or even building, of the company in question. Sometimes we even hear that the posters email address is also that of the company in question. If you have come here looking for information re. HMS timeshare - offer them their fee at the conclusion (when your HOA has verified transfer) and see if they are still interested.
