We'll be in/on Sanibel this time next week :) and I've been getting the rates for different courses. For those of you that have played the Dunes, Beachview and Shell Point (just off the island), which is the best. The Dunes give wonderful discounts if you happen to be staying at 2 specific resorts, which we're not, Beachview will give us a 20% discount and Shell Point rates weren't bad.
Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks in advance.

I've played at Shell Point (last year for a tournament) & the Dunes but not Beachview. Both of these courses I mentioned are great & long depending on which tee box is used but for the women, its not that long. The price is right for many golf courses down here as its not-in-season.

Seems like everyone plays the Dunes on Sandibel, id they are staying on the Island & Shell Point is spread-out cause lots of older people live there as their residence, they are older than me but they like their golf.

Have some fun at either course & you'll like them both! Right now, I'm more worried bout getting more water where we live from the flooding that's going on here in Bonita Springs.

Thanks for the input. I've just heard from someone on another forum and she much prefers the Dunes to Beachview but hadn't played Shell Point. We'll stop by Shell Point as we arrive and have a look.
I hear you about the water, we had a lot of rain but we're o.k. and our golf course drains well. Not been to Bonita for years, was one of the first places we went to on vacation before living in FL. full time. Played the Bonita Springs Country Club and that other one just off of I-75 Hunters something, Ridge? We were staying in the T/S right next to the Bonita C.C.

Luv to play Hunters Ridge again but it went private last year & Bonita Springs Country Club belly-ed-up late last year, I think, ifin its the one off of Old 41.

The water is getting higher & higher & its now stomin! Doesn't look good for our neighbors as we built our house in 2005 & are up bout 6 ft or so from their properties. Gotta go for awhile & start playing in the water!

Have fun when you arrive & a great time playing the Dunes, ya gonna like the golf course as well as the price!

I really don't want to say that but yes, we are under water, most of East Bonita is for that matter! Our house isn't but the neighbors are! Its a lot worst today & not getting any better, here are some pic's:

Considering how relatively drought stricken we've all been, it's amazing how much water Fay dumped and it's still lying in places you don't want to see it. Hope that water goes down soon and that Gustav looks the other way!!

Well we're here and played The Dunes this morning. It was most enjoyable and very pleasing on the eye with water on every hole - we lost a couple of balls, so I thought we did well. GPS on the carts is a great help. We're playing again Monday and they offered to keep our clubs which was good.
Course was pretty quiet, we had a few groups behind us, no-one in front, so it was like having the place to ourselves - what more could you ask for?:)

Our tee time is 8:40 - of course, weather permitting. If it's raining we don't be bothering. DH is also 64 so you'll have company on that score!
