I know there are 2 resorts affiliated with RCI. Has anyone stayed at either of the Sandos resorts? Which one is nicer? More family friendly? Can you go to the restaurants at both resorts? I understand there are elite rooms that have many perks are those for timeshare people?
Thanks!

My family of four (kids 11 and 13) stayed at Sandos Playacar for spring break this year. Although we were not there as timeshare owners, I had booked the 1 bedroom suite/Royal Club (pricey). This property has a new section that sits WAY back from the beach. While the pools, rooms, restaurants are nice, I would not be pleased being so far from the beach. If you can land an oceanfront unit, then it is great. However, be aware the beach erosion there is horrible and I probably would not go back to that part of Playacar anytime soon. If you can find a timeshare north of the Playa del Carmen pier, you would be happier with the beach. Right now, there are sand bags for miles in that lower PDC area. Email me direct with further questions, Postcard64@aol.com:)
