Thanks for the number! Yes, they all face the water. Bingo. Anyone else have any info on the resort or the area - restaurants, etc. We like casual - usually like to sit at the bar and people watch and chat with folks. TIA
We used to (but no longer) own a few timeshare weeks in nearby Indian Shores. Sand Pebble in Treasure Island is of older construction, like most of the timeshare properties in this area. Sand Pebble Beach Resort was formerly (and is likely currently) managed by VRI and is located less than a mile south of Johns Pass and its' "village", where you will find numerous shops and restaurants in a "mini mall / village" setting. That "village" may well be where you'll find something that floats your boat (...or your ice cubes, at least). Don't know much about Sand Pebble resort other than exactly where it is located on the Gulf beach side of Gulf Blvd and that it is clearly of older construction.
Can't tell you much of anything about Treasure Island overall, as we spent most of our time in Indian Rocks Beach, Indian Shores, occasionally Clearwater (all being north of Treasure Island) when we stayed in that area. Restaurants change, so I'll not offer any "old news" views or opinions on that, although I do recall liking a casual, non-descript place called Guppy's, which I think is in Indian Shores, on the ICW (i.e., non-beach) side of Gulf Blvd. I also recall being greatly
unimpressed by a stuffy place in Indian Shores, just south of the Legacy Vacation Club timeshare property in Indian Shores, on the same side of Gulf Blvd. I think it was called Salt Rock Grille --- or something close to that. I recall it being unjustifiably pretentious, overpriced and underwhelming (IMnsHO).
As you head south on Gulf Blvd. from Treasure Island towards St. Pete Beach, you will find more and more commerce and people activity, more traffic congestion.
As you go north on Gulf Blvd. from Treasure Island toward Clearwater, the towns get progressively quieter, with much less commerce, people activity, a seemingly older population base and a
much more "residential" (snoozy?) "feel" through and including Belleaire Beach --- until reaching Clearwater.
P.S. If you have any interest in bicycling, the Pinellas Trail runs for many miles in this area. It's paved and it's safe with no vehicles allowed (but it obviously crosses many streets with vehicle traffic). Parking is not available at all points of access to the Pinellas Trail, but any local bicycle shop can provide you with helpful information (...and rental bikes if you're interested, and
maybe on-site parking for at least a few hours).
