Does anyone know how you can get a free membership for Sams club. I hear from several people that they have got a free 1 year membership for Sams club but when I call or look I do not see anything. Just like to know if there is anyone out there that can help me. I would like to do some shopping there for at least several months and be able to compare the prices at different times

I've no information about a free membership, but we joined for the first time this year using Groupon. It cost $20, and they gave us $20 of free stuff (food items), so it was essentially free a year. I doubt if we will renew, but we thought we'd try it.

I know a few times they have offered free membership through our employer. I think that was when Costco was just getting ready to open up in town. I have also heard about the Groupon offers. We let our Sam's membership expire since the Costco opened just 5 minutes from our house.

I get offers for free membership from BJ's, but when I asked at Sam's I was told they do not offer free membership promotions. I also inquired at Costco, and they do not offer free membership either. At least, not in my area.

But with Costco, if it turns out to be of no value to you, they'll refund your membership cost with no questions asked.

My wife got one two years ago on a special promo by signing up with the "Zoolily" web site.

Forgot about the refund. I have a COSTCO membership, but don't want to cancel. It's certainly a good option for someone wanting to try them out.

Yes, I got the same deal thru Zulilly. I have seen this offer for the last couple of years. Open to NEW members only-not a member in the last six months-but YMMV. Free large pizza, free 30 count cupcakes and a $20 gift card all for a $45 membership. Pretty close to free...:cheer:
