Got a laugh yesterday at the local warehouse store. They had those hard-to-open hard-plastic packages that were for 2-nite, 3-day "vacations" (I think they were 2-nite, maybe 3) at Diamond resorts, in 3 or 4 places -- like Las Vegas, Willamsburg, Daytona, and maybe Orlando. At various prices, and the package does say they are for the purpose of selling timeshares. And I think there were limitations on the valid dates, but I didn't really study them closely.

I saw that yesterday too. Ours were for Vegas, Orlando and Branson. I asked if you had to do a timeshare tour and the young lady indicated you would be offered one, but did not have to attend. If you elect to attend, you would get additional incentives. I thought the prices were high.

I never have any use for a 3 day, 2 night stay. In reality, it's a 1 day, 2 night stay since you travel the first day and can't check in before 4 PM, spend half the next day doing a sales pitch and leave before 10 AM the following day to travel home. I suppose you can link it into another accommodation to make it worthwhile. I notice Sam's sells the 4 day, 3 night for a little bit more. That makes more sense.

I'd be careful that they don't put you up at a hotel rather than at the resort and then require you to do the sales pitch to get your hotel voucher. That's the way it worked when we did one of these almost free trips to Pigeon Forge. We were also charged an extra 'energy' charge. Be careful and know what you are buying and agreeing to ahead of time.
