Club Wyndham Platinum
Earlier this week, I attended yet another Wyndham sales pitch.

My background: I bought two fixed weeks and two floating deeded time share weeks at Smugglers Notch resort in 1998. Around 2015 I converted to Club Wyndham by buying 49k Club Wyndham Access (CWA) points. I received 564K points in the Wyndham system bringing me to 613k pts. The only distinction between my deeded select pts and the CWA pts that was explained to me is that I could only use my deeded weeks in the Advanced Reservation Priority (ARP) Week window for my deeded unit. I am not sure that that is even correct. A few years later I purchased more points to bring me to 824k points, consisting of 564k deeded select points and 260k CWA.

They are now trying to sell me 126k more points in Margaritaville, saying that I need to do this so I can "see" every unit in every resort. They are saying that THESE points, even though deeded, are somehow magically different than my smugglers notch deeded points and will behave as CWA points. Furthermore, they say Wyndham will convert my Smuggs points to a similar status.

This doesnt make any sense unless Wyndham changed the nature of my converted Smuggs points, AFTER my initial purchase and contract, which at a minimum is unscrupulous business practice and quite possibly be grounds for a class action suit.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Those new points would allow you full access to book Margaritaville resorts in the ARP, Standard, and Express windows, with only those 126k points. It doesn’t change the booking ability of your other points or what resorts you can see, only the advanced access to Margaritaville with the new 126k points. If you’re VIP Gold as you appear to be, you also have the ability to book Margaritaville with your other points at 8 months prior to check-in.

a salesperson will tell you whatever he thinks you need to hear to get you to buy from them.

Lots of lies. The only thing Margaritaville points will get you is the ability to book Margaritaville in the ARP and everything else in the SRP, and only for the MV points you purchase, not for all of them.

And, how many Margaritaville nights can you get for 126,000 points?

How many would anyone want?
The point of my post was 126,000 doesn't go very far in Margaritaville resorts. Example: 126,000 is not enough for full week in a studio at MGVC-Atlanta in High season (High season is the lowest of two seasons at Atlanta.)

So, most likely, You Can't Always Get What You Want.
