not that I condone either activity...but its ridiculous that the scammers get off with lighter sentences than tax fraudsters.

$180k in most states is not a bad salary.

He won't be working too hard as he was capture on his return to US for health reasons and treatment ...

Now US tax paying citizens get to pay for the next 25 months of his health issues. No license plate making or chain gang road work for our timeshare salesman.

I doubt any of the scammers are paying taxes on all the money they stole. I also suspect that this additional charge is never added to the fraud charges.

FWIW, the article stated that he earned that money from 2002-2005 so $180,000 over four years works out to about $45,000 per year.

Now depending on how many hours he had to work each year to earn that, then that could be a good salary or a meager one.
