We are at Grande Ocean HH this week and it's been a good week we are going to the sales pitch at Surfwatch today to get my 10K points which for an hour or 2 you cant beat it, it would take $1000.00 in marriott charges to get that.

Anyway any questions that folks would like asked (within reason and sensible) because I have no plans of buying additional points and will be tuning out for most of it.

Please ask what happens when you eventually need to sell your Marriott Destinations Points, if you were to buy points today. What is Marriott Vacations Worldwide doing to make sure that buyers who need to sell can recover most of the significant upfront cost of buying points?

When I went to a sales presentation, I was told the resale program was still being worked on. Marriott Vacations Worldwide should allow points to be sold freely on through the company and on the secondary market, retaining the ability to book with exactly the same rules. Unfortunately, all indications are that the company doesn't see it this way.

Probably too late- but I'd like to know how long the current enrollment pricing structure will continue to be offered for.

:hysterical: it would be funny if that sales tactic wasn't used.
Seriously, though, I know there was some talk of the initial pricing offer expiring this month or next, and I was wondering if there was any updates on that.

We were told at a presentation yesterday that the $/point ratio would increase at the start of their new fiscal year Dec. 1. There was somewhat of a Nov. special ;) that we could take advantage of also.

Macster is probably slumped in a chair in his room trying to figure out how he let himself be snookered into plopping down his dough...and deciding whether and how to rescind.

Anyone that's ever sold anything knows that you have to create an urgency for the customer to act. That's all this sales talk is and should be taken for what it is. I'm sure the sales staff is instructed to do these sales routines whether they personally agree with them or not. Just like buying a car. Who will buy from a salesperson until the sales manager has given his pitch?

In the old pre-constuction days Marriott always prided itself that it never negotiated with customers. They always had an impressive number of incentives to offer. You could tour one resort yet buy preconstruction at another.

Nowdays, they sit there like bumps on a log and threaten customers with what will happen if they fail to act. That's about the only item they have in their sales toolboxes. It's just not worth attending these presentations anymore.
