I just got back from a meeting with the sales staff at Reunion, My wife wouldnt go, so no gift.

I had two questions and I got them both answered, but it took a little work. 1) when can we expect the new resort in Clearwater Fl to open. http://www.tampabay.com/news/busine...h-mega-resort-to-finally-break-ground/2213455

and 2), I want to convert 10 fixed (and floating) weeks I own to points can you do it?

so the salesman picks me up in the lobby and we sit at a little table, The first question is easy,, we are at least a year away in Clearwater.

Converting weeks to points is another story. My guy disappeared to look up some details on my account(s) never to return. The guy that did come back was a manager, I think... in any case he was wearing a suit..

long story short, I dont expect to be invited back

Didn't they also disappear on you in NOLA when you asked about doing that?

No one would even see me in New Orleans. I had to hang around the receptionists desk until a sales person made the mistake of asking if I had been helped

I told her that a salesman in Hawaii had made me VIP with a small purchase and several resale weeks converted to points and I wanted to do it again... she first told me I didnt know what I was talking about, There was no way the Hawaii weeks made me VIP. but she thought she could get 5 weeks converted to points with a small purchase

she disappeared and never returned. At least today someone came back> and didnt call me a liar

:rofl: They had no idea who they were talking with. Why do they always assume that they know more than we do?

I wanted to see if anyone had been told anything similar to what I was told this summer in my “owner update”. I was told CWA is a copycat off of Worldmark. Wyndham wanted to see if it would work and according to them, it is. They lost lotsa money in foreclosures during the recession and now believe changing their timeshare “product” to CWA universally is less risk for Wyndham then UDI based contracts when someone can no longer pay their maintenance fees or defaults. With CWA, they can more easily “take it back” and resell it. When I called owner care, they kind of flipped out and said no way was that true. I would like to think there is some element of truth to this since CWA is being pushed so aggressively right now. What do you all think as I am not sure what the limitations of a trust are and are not in relationship to timeshare?

PS I was also told they will no longer take fixed weeks back

I think you are exactly right about the design of CWA and why it was designed that way
but I wouldn't look for confirmation from owner care

The reason for the CWA trust is that there are fewer limitations than the deeded model For example; easier foreclosures

As Cheryl said, they didn't know who they were talking to Once he figured out I was "one of those" (megarenter) the session was over

I'm surprised they didn't know that before they started talking to you. Someone didn't do their homework.

I got the same speech at Bonnet Creek this weekend. All about CWA. Old UDI model sold out too quickly (whatever.....). Then know how to use your leftover points, i.e. Wyndham rewards for MF's, gift cards, hotel rooms, etc....

Never allowed time for update questions. Only two couples there for a noon update.

Now let your sales associate show you how..... five minutes later, he was like, "ok, time for your give". Guess I frustrated him a bit, he beat us out of the building by taking the stairs. In and out in 65 minutes. Shooting for under 45 next time, if our schedule allows!
