Looking for 3 nights in Orlando this spring. Using an AC - only pulling studios at other places. 2BR available at Sable and Royal.

First - which one is in the back near Imperial and which is up front within walking to World Center?

I know neither of these have the kids activities/pools like Grand Vista or Harbor Lake....but which would you say is better?

I recall years ago at a stay at Imperial that we could use World Center amenities for free. This still ok?

Thanks in advance!

Royal is by Imperial.

Sabal on other side of World Center....very easy access via short walk.

You can still use World Center amenities for free. Only potential charge (unless its real slow) is to use the new (few years old) water slide tower at the World Center...but fee is nominal, only $10 per villa for days you use it....certainly worth it in my opinion. Slides are fun.

I just returned fro a week at Sabal Palms and wrote a review. In summary Sable Palms is awesome. Royal Palms is also very nice. People say the Royal Palms pool and Club House is nicer but I prefer Sabal because it's a shorter walk to World Center where we spend most of our pool time. They all share a free limo golf cart shuttle if you prefer.
If you golf Hawks Landing is in exceptionally good shape and even though I played it all last week it should recover by spring

Sabal Palms is my favorite MVCI resort in Orlando. I like it even better than Lakeshore Reserve, although most would not agree with that opinion. Sabal was Marriott's first purpose built resort and it is still great.

Another vote for Sabal. Have stayed at both and since we prefer to go to the Marriott Worldcenter pool, the Sabal is better. We also like how they have updated the rooms over the years.

I agree that Sabal is better. Here's why.

Townhouse configuration with upstairs and down stairs units. No high rise
Right across a surface parking lot from WC.
Views can be good depending on which building

Why Royal Palms is just okay.

On the golf course and they mow it pretty much every morning. It gets loud very early.
Pretty long hike to WC
Better units, but you trade that off for having a lot more noise above and below.

Both used to be marginal, but with refurb and upgrades they are as nice as most Marriott properties and they are literally two miles from Disney gates.

This photo is from our patio at Sabal Palms. Screen is more visable in photo than with the eye. Unit 4524. The balloon is the "Characters In Flight" attraction at Downtown Disney.

Sad News about former Palms GM

I'm currently staying at Oceana Palms and just learned very sad news regarding the former long-time GM at the Palms resorts in Orlando. He passed away suddenly recently. He had been GM at these resorts for a very long time and had helped my family and friends enjoy many wonderful vacations. Please keep him in your prayers.

Searched Sabal Palms and this thread came up. I just booked Sabal for a week this summer. Lakeshore is my absolute favorite in Orlando, so I can't wait to stay at Sabal now! Why do you love Sabal more than Lakeshore?
