I have reserved a couple of weeks at the home resort using the 13-mo multi-week benefit rule.

Can I deposit one of the weeks into II more than 12 months from check-in?

I have deposited as much as 15 months out in the past. I have had some pushback on a couple of deposits the last couple of years though. In one case I had to redeposit but still well more than 13 months out, I essentially redeposited as soon as the II website removed the deposits. In the other I was notified by II that MVC said it was too early (like the previous one) but the deposit never disappeared and both searches ended up matching. For those that may not know, the fixed weeks (like HP and some Monarch) can be deposited at 18 months out though not the plus weeks since you have to make a reservation.

I have to rephrase my question slightly having read responses so far which jiggled something in my memory.

For a home reservation obtained using the 13-mo multiple week ownership benefit, do I need to wait until 12 months of the check-in of that week reservation before I can deposit into II?

I ask because I vaguely remember someone here mentioning this (but I cannot find using the search)

Try it!
II rules say you can deposit between 60 days and 24 months before check in.
You can request right away too.

No.

I’m pretty sure Marriott will not allow one deposit further out earlier than 18 months since that is the limitation on the fixed weeks

You definitely can’t go that far out with a Marriott deposit. The website will tell you it’s an invalid checkin date when you try. Maybe other systems are different and allow further out. You can certainly do a 13-month one though. I think the website is programmed to allow up to like the 15-month mark when I have tried fake date deposit searches to test trade power.

If I recall correctly, I was not able to deposit a fixed week at Harbor point before 18 months out. I no longer on this week though it’s still listed in my online account.

I have been depositing weeks into II, 16 months before check in, by booking a string of platinum Florida weeks, Grand Chateau, Branson and Hawaii. Though like Dean, in the past couple years, some weeks get rejected. Not all the weeks and not always the farthest out weeks.

While the reservation procedures for the resorts indicate that 13 month reservations are for occupancy, MVC has neither defined that or enforced it to mean physical occupancy by the owner. We regularly deposit our 13 month reservations as soon as we reserve them.

No, you can deposit it now.
I have done this for the last decade. Book at 13 month and then deposit in a few days. Works fine. No problems.

Thanx guys, will be depositing tomorrow to add my OGS's (for MVC properties)!

Oh, but if my latest owner's update presenter is correct and we can no longer use II to exchange our weeks for stays at other Marriotts, then we are screwed, but THAT is another topic 🤣

As I said those are the II rules.
And OP asked about 13 months.
And I still say try it!
Those are II's general rules but they also allow each member organization to select the lead time for that group. The longest is 24 months out and I believe the shortest is 12 months. From what I've seen MVC has selected 18 months. Now it's unlikely one would be further out than 18 months with floating weeks. But as I mentioned, and Frank said he'd also experienced, is problem depositing some units even 14-15 months out. Actually one of the deposits that I had declined the first time had matched and the match was canceled.

Having a match canceled must hurt. I mean, matching in our TS world is like winning a prize, and who wants to have a prize taken away?
