I haven't been to Ruidoso so can't speak to that. Don't think there are any timeshares in Albuquerque. But we love Santa Fe. Look there. :D We've stayed at Las Brisas, Otra Vez and Villas de Santa Fe. Liked all of them.

There is, or was, one timeshare in Albuquerque. It is largely privately owned, so exchanges are few and far between.

We, too, love the area. I lived in Albuquerque for a little over two years--and it wasn't nearly long enough. It's only an hour's drive from Santa Fe to Albuquerque, and there is lots to do in the area.

Ruidoso strikes me as a typical mountain vacation area. It's beautiful. There are quarterhorse races. It isn't far to White Sands and Carlsbad Caverns.

I've stayed at Crown Point (several years ago). It's just as you get into town - from the west/south (even before the Wal Mart!!) Sits on top of a mountain at a significant altitude (the air is thin). The lodging sits right in the tree line (watch out for raccoons). It was nice enough but haven't stayed anywhere else so I can't compare. If I recall, they had a heated indoor pool?

Innsbrook Village

We own at Innsbrook Village in Ruidoso. It depends on what you are looking for because this is not what I would consider a "resort". It is more like a condo community. The timeshare condos are mixed with residents that live there year round. If you want a spacious unit that has comfortable, but not new, furnishings and your own garage you will like it, but if you are looking for new and modern units, you may not like it. We love it because we have family in El Paso and it is a nice comfortable place to take family members. Our unit has 2 large bedrooms, plus a loft that has two beds and a large living/dining room. The units are "western" style with large working fireplaces. What we like best is that it is like having your own residence for a week with a par 3 golf course right outside our door. You will be on your own once you check in. You are given a garage code and can come and go as you please, but no real amenties to speak of. I believe my review might still be on this site.

We stayed at Innsbrook Village (a RCI Exchange) in Ruidoso last week and aandmrun gave a good write-up. We enjoyed our stay and was in unit 119. The water is hard! And there is a grocery store close. We did the Hubbard Museum, took a day trip to White Sands and an over night trip to Carlsbad Caverns and Roswell. The golf course is free if you have clubs ( as we were leaving we discovered a few children sized clubs in the closet that the Grandsons could have used on the green) and the green was right out the back door. Nothing fancy but we liked it. The deck off the second level needed some work. It is little over a 3 hour drive from Albuquerque.

Did you like the units at Crown point? Is it close to town and the casinos and horse racing?
Right now there is nothing available for Innsbrook in late August.

We are going to try to get a "Getaway" deal. Hope RCI has a special deal soon!

Thank you so much for the information!

A number of years ago I used to practically live in Ruidoso during racing season. My favorite TimeShare was Pinecliff. Units were fine. In addition they have a nice indoor pool. But the main reason I liked it was because it is centrally located as to the Ruidoso Downs Race Track; the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort/Casino; Walmart; and downtown.

George

PS I used to own a couple of Weeks at Pinecliff

Like I said, it's been a few years but, these were not exotic or fancy condos. They were clean but I wouldn't expect the counters to be granite or all stainless steel appliances, if that's what you are looking for. They were just about perfect for the area. Ruidoso is not a metropolitan area. Nothing is that far away (but everything is a drive!!) I would say their claim to fame is snow and horse racing (and solitude). If any of those things pique your interest then enjoy! We did stop at Carlsbad Caverns on our way back. I don't recall thinking it was a "day trip" but, I guess it could have been. It was a must see for our kids (and my husband) - I am not that interested in bat guano.
