As outcomes from the Advisory Committee meetings taking place this year? In order, what are they?
3. A comprehensive restructure of the Advisory Committee and management. Advisory committee members to be elected by a RR member vote - serve a term of 3 years. Members interested for consideration submit a resume to an elected board of members for review, then distribution to all members for vote (vs. sent to RR management). Authority administered to Advisory Members to oversee management personnel. Annual AC meetings webcast to members.
2. Immediate and ongoing implementation of cost saving and revenue generating measures with the primary objective of offsetting member maintenance fees. The Royal Resorts have proven their lack of initiative in this, opting instead to simply raise member maintenance fees. This should be reserved as the last resort, only when all measures have been exhausted, and yet failed to adequately support and offset MF increases. This should be the primary goal of RR management and Advisory Committee members – failure to control MF’s should be considered failure on behalf of management and Advisory Committee members, and accountability for failure enforced. Just like in the real world where inefficient businesses terminate their non-producers; they don’t have the luxury of a steady revenue stream to fall back on.
1. A reduction in member maintenance fees for 2012. Additionally, member price incentives and benefits/perks to incentivize membership over renting. The timeshare world has changed dramatically in the past several years, and the RR has neglected to keep up in some respects. They have chosen to offer identical pricing, benefits, and perks to casual renters at the expense of ostracizing its loyal members. Yes, there have been a few price breaks as of late; however, these are few, and not universal. The incentive today is to rent as opposed to become or remain a member.
“Don’t worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you’ll have to ram them down people’s throats”.
