I have Royal Floridian on hold right now, for an August summer week.

RCI says its silver crown, is it nice there? Are the rooms updated? How it the pool and beach area?

We would be trading into a 2 bedroom.

Thanks!

Ive checked tripadvisor, and they arent many pictures.

I was in Daytona Beach a few weeks ago. I didn't get a change to go into the resort, but from the outside it looks beautiful (and very, very large for the area). Let us know how it is if you go.

It is very convenient to restaurants and grocery stores also. And direct access to the mainland's bridge.

Are you talking about The Royal Floridian in Ormond Beach? If so, this is a very nice place. We were there October 2007 and had a great time. We had a first floor room which at first we weren't too happy about as the view is always better the higher up you are. BUT, we loved the ground floor...went right out of the living room onto the patio area. The beach is great, a very nice place to walk although you cannot drive on the beach here. We had a 2 bed/2bath unit, living area and small kitchen. Room was clean and very satisfactory. The pool area is very nice, there are several areas to arrange your chairs, basketball court, mini-golf, BBQ area w/grills and tables. There is no restuarant, however the beach bar at the pool does serve hot dogs and burgers along with good drinks. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. There are towells furnished each day at the outside pool. There is also an indoor pool and excersise room, although we didn't use either. There are several good eating places in the area, along with hundreds in Daytona Beach.
