We are in Phase II, Bldg. N on the fifth floor of the Royal Sands. How is the Wifi speed? This is the first year we'll have the free wifi in our villa (were not there last year). We usually get a Todito card. Will we still need one this year?

What are you wanting to do? Skype? Google voice? My experience with the Royals is that the wifi will more than adequately support audio communication. We've done video, also, but can't speak for the Sands. I've only done audio communication there.

We were at the Haciendas week 45. Wifi in the villa was slow and difficult to connect to. On the balcony it was strong and I was able to video chat (macs version of skype) with my grandson without difficulty.

And we were at the Hacienda for week 46 and can confirm Ilene's experience with wifi as well. We were in Building G which is the farthest from the beach and pool and it was ok on the balcony but pretty slow inside the villa. I noticed a wifi antenna on the roof of the pool bar and that accounts for the great speeds around the pool with the iphone. My wife was video skyping her mom in Ukraine from the pool with no problems and I still find that kind of thing amazing!
