That building is in Phase II and has a very nice ocean view. You will be on the 5th floor.

Curious...how do you know your unit in advance? We booked the Royal Sands thru an II exchange for later this month. When I called the Royal Sands front desk today to reconfirm my reservation they advised me that I'd be assigned a unit at check-in and that whatever unit I got would depend on availability.

Also, can anyone advise me what units I should be requesting? (This is our first stay at the Royal Sands.) Looking at the resort map, I can hardly make out any numbers:

Tom, go to the II website and check your confirmation - your unit number is on it. The Royals have always honored the unit number I have had at check-in...there are MANY returning owners that have all purchased fixed weeks and units,,,and that is where they will stay.

You can not request units. You are in the unit that was claimed with the II exchange that the owner deposited.

Thanks for pointing that out. I was relying on the PDF file that II e-mailed to me, which did not have a unit no. Sure enough, when I logged in, the II web site showed that I got unit #D5410. Looking at the resort map, the "D" bldg looks like it's one of the ones further from the beach, but I cannot otherwise tell whether it's good or bad (any advice would be appreciated).

D5410 is the second level in the D building. The location is very convenient to the elevators, pool access etc. I'm not sure of the view (you're kind of in the corner). We own 5413 (in the E building), it has a great view, but its in the middle directly facing the ocean. Never the less, I'm sure even from 5410 you'll have a good view of the ocean. Check out the photos and map at this website.

Mike--

Thanks for the very helpful description of our unit's location. With 4 little children (2 familes), I think convenience will certainly rate high in our opinion.
