Looking for help from a Royal Resorts Member about Interval International Exchanges. The Royal Sands and Royal Haciendas are AI mandatory on Interval Exchanges. AI is optional on an owner week or rental from owner.

If an owner exchange via II into the Royal Sands, is the AI optional because they are owners? Does this still apply if they exchange a non Royal week , e.g. a Marriott or Hyatt?

I am thinking about buying a week at a Royal Resort to become a member. This becomes a better deal if I can also exchange into the Royal Sands using my Marriott weeks.

Thank you for your help. A response that says "I am a Royal Member and I exchanged my non-Royal week in Interval" would be greatly appreciated.

As long as you the owner at a Royal make the exchange through II, to use yourself it doesn't matter what you use to make the exchange, AI is optional.

If you are letting a guest use the unit, and they don't want to pay the AI then they have to be using your Royal unit or on a GC for an interval exchange that was made using your Royal unit as the exchange deposit.

At The Royal Sands and The Royal Haciendas, The REFINE All-Inclusive Package will always be optional for members and their guests. It will be mandatory for non-members who rent or exchange.

At The Royal Cancun, The REFINE All-Inclusive Package is now available and will be optional for members and their guests as well as for non-member guests exchanging through the international exchange companies. It will be mandatory for non-member renters.

14. If a Member of Royal Resorts exchanges their week(s) and gives it to a non-member third party via a Guest Certificate, will the Guest have optional access to the REFINE All-Inclusive Package?
Yes, the Guest will have optional access to the REFINE All-Inclusive Package. This policy is only valid if the Royal Resorts Member uses a Royal Resorts week for the exchange. If he/she uses a week that is not one of their Royal Resorts membership weeks, this courtesy cannot be granted. Only one Guest Certificate per Royal Resorts membership agreement is allowed. In other words, for each week owned, one Guest Certificate can be given to a non-member who will have optional access to the REFINE All-Inclusive Package.

Thanks - great response

I was hoping to hear from someone who knew from experience.

This was even better: quoting chapter and verse. Plus a 21st century link.

Thanks
