Royal Resorts to HIVC: observations

Have been a Royals owner for about twenty years now; Signature Club member for maybe eight years. At my most recent visit to the Royals in April I basically converted my three fixed weeks and points to HIVC membership. After about six weeks I received an e-mail that my portal at HIVC was ready. I called HIVC to get an explanation of all the in's and out's of the HIVC. What a disappointment. You can't do this, you can't do that. You can only make a reservation for an additional week at one of your own resorts within a such and such window. Blah, blah, blah. Fee for this, fee for that. At Signature Club I was an owner. At HIVC I was just another number. We all know it is inevitable, but my advice to other Royals owners and especially Signature Club members is to postpone the inevitable for as long as possible, and make any upcoming reservations thru the existing system. I might also try to convert any Royals points to a fixed week. Also, look at the HIVC points calendar to see where the break points are in their calendar. Finally, at HIVC Easter week per se has NO PREMIUM, whereas in the Royals calendar it always became a premium week. In summary, we are about as important to HIVC as fleas on a dog!

I am sorry this has happened to you. We have owned at the RR since 1991. Currently we own week 45 at the RH and weeks 14 & 15 at the RS( since 1999). When they converted to points we did not! We never joined the Signature Club as it didn’t offer any advantages. When HICV bought the RR the first thing I did was join their owner FB pages. I learned a lot. They seem to nickel and dime the owners for everything- they even charge for noodles to use in the pools! Their units don’t look very well maintained. I hope none of that changes at the RR. Also we have never done AI and we don’t plan to. We too were at the RS, if I had met you I would have tried to talk you out of the purchase
