Well, I received it. In addition to the broad overall satisfaction of timeshare ownership there were a lot of questions pertaining to other TS units owned and what you like about the other TS. There were questions about spending and vacation habits. Took about 25 minutes to complete.

Tip: When they ask for numbers input, make sure that every field gets a number even if it is 0. A blank number field will not allow you to advance to the next page.

Received the survey today. Pretty straight forward, but a bit redundant.

Hmm

I'm still wondering how they decide who gets these. This is the second survey I know of and still haven't received one. I would think a multiple week owner would be expected to have an opinion. On another note though, MF were only slightly bumped. I saw on the Disney board theirs were going up anywhere from 2.5 to 8.75 % depending on the resort. Having stayed there I'll take my Royal over a Disney Vacation Club anyday.:)

Did it. I was hoping to get a "would you be interested in buying into the Mayan" survey, but this was clearly a "how satisfied are you with timesharing" one.

I noticed that the survey did not address “Resales”.

When I was at the Tri-Royals this year, while sitting around the pool or sitting at the palapa bar enjoying happy hour, several people were talking about buying another week that would be before or after their current week(s). Several had talked with their salesperson and had gotten a price, which was high. The overwhelming advice was to shop the internet. It’s amazing that some people have not considered the internet as a source of shopping for timeshares. I guess the survey didn’t want to pass on this source of competition to those that don’t know it exists! :ignore:

Without my years of TUG experience, I wouldn't trust buying a timeshare on the internet. How do you know the seller is legitimate? Really owns the TS? that you aren't just sending your money to the "bit bucket"? I have now bought and sold online - but had I just heard of it, I'd have been quite leery of it.

Interestingly (but perhaps not surprisingly to Royals veterans) I learned of TUG directly from the Royals, and also learned of buying/selling online from the Royal Resorts salespeople.

Same here PJ. They made numerous references to the reviews and top rankings.

We discussed the web sites where to shop for Royal Resort properties, i.e. TUG, Redweek, omcancun, etc., we also discussed the “Stickys” that appear on TUG’s “Buying, Selling, Renting” page and last but not least, when dealing on the internet with someone that you do not know, that an escrow account must be set up. The potential buyer was also told that since it’s his money that he insist that he select the escrow company. This all took about one and a half margaritas. :D

Anyway, back to the survey. When I logged onto the survey it said, “Welcome plus my name”. One of the first questions was, “How old are you?” Then the body of the survey asked in many different ways:

1. How long you have owned your timeshare(s)? With this information they can calculate when they were bought.
2. How many weeks/locations of timeshares do you own?
3. Where are your timeshare located and do you return every year?
4. How many dollars are you spending on vacation(s)?
5. Finally, are you interested in buying more weeks? FYI, I answered, “NO!” :(

My conclusion is that the survey was intended to see if there are still some potential buyers out there, how many are there and who are they?

Disappointed with Survey

It was obviously a survey that had everything to do with selling. I was hoping it was going to be a survey about what I like about the resorts and what I feel could use changing or improvement.
